One more thing I’ve realized this week…

And I’m posting this here instead of Twitter because Twitter has decided it hates me today (or maybe I’ve posted so much lately that I broke my internet connection to it..and I know it doesn’t work like that but what the hell else could it be?)…

The best way to get back to (relative) normalcy after Life sucker punches you in the face - or maybe sneaks up slowly because it’s like the pressure behind a steam valve - is to act like you normally do. In the immortal words of Leo McGarry (if you don’t know who he is, go watch The West Wing right now please, this post will keep): ”’Act as if ye have faith and faith shall be given to you’. Put another way: ‘Fake it ‘til you make it.’”… Okay, so they’re really the words of Aaron Sorkin who wrote the episode, but I kind of like quoting Leo sometimes. Right, but anyway, back to what I was saying before I was distracted: you act normally and pretty soon you feel like you’re back to normal because acting normally stops you from…dwelling.

Well, would you look at that: Tumblr really is better for my random introspections… And I think I’m done for now, considering how much I’ve subjected you all to my rambling - more so than usual - this week.

Except for one more thing, which I already said on Twitter but I think it’s kind of important so I’ll also say it here: I’ve never regretted saying “thank you”, but I have regretted not saying it… And maybe the world would be a better place if more people just took a second to say and mean a “thank you”.

Okay, NOW I’m done introspecting and I’m posting this right as soon as I finish this sentence so that I don’t keep going…
